Religious Icon: Christ, the Giver of Wisdom

We chose this beautifully ornate small religious icon of Christ, the Teacher, with its two companion religious icons of the same size, the 'Madonna and Child; Blue-Robed' and the 'Madonna and Child; Red-Robed' because the detailed floral motif in the damascene is extremely illustrative of the intricate floral work typical of Religious Art and Icons from the Byzantine period. Jesus is here depicted as the Teacher or the Giver of Wisdom.
