Religious Icon: Madonna and Child, Blue-Robed

We chose this beautifully ornate small religious icon of the Madonna and Child, with its two companion religious icons of the same size, the 'Madonna and Child; Red-Robed' and 'Christ, the Giver of Wisdom' because the detailed floral motif in the damascene is extremely illustrative of the intricate floral work typical of Religious Art and Icons from the Byzantine period. This particularly tender depiction of Mary and Jesus is looking inward, representing an internal focus.
