We are a Canadian company that was formed to promote the traditional crafts of southern Spain and to provide discriminating customers in North America access to exciting new hand crafted home décor; unique, traditional works of art from southern Spain hitherto unavailable. Our high-end, ‘museum quality’ pieces will enhance your homes and definitely be one-of-a-kind. These unique, hand made and hand painted or decorated products are rarely found for purchase in Canada or North America or online. We are involved in every aspect of the life of our company. Our wonderful experiences in Spain have guided us throughout our journey; from our initial idea, to discovering and meeting our associate artisans, to selecting our products and bringing them to Canada, to building our website, to responding to your questions and inquiries and, of course, to ensuring that your choices arrive safely. We are Canada’s first web based retailer of Spanish hand crafted products and the first in North America to focus on the hand craft traditions of Andalucia in southern Spain.
Our passion for Spain and our continuing joy in the voyage of discovery we undertake is one that spans many years, from our early years as young travelers experiencing a new culture for the first time, to our later years of deep appreciation for all the aspects of this vibrant land which speak to us so clearly and forcefully. We invite you to share in our passion for 'Al Andalus' in southern Spain, an area which embodies the spirit of the ancient culture of the Moors.
Please join us in our ongoing discovery of the crafts, culture and history of this lovely Spanish region.
We are dedicated to bringing you, through our Collection of their finest products, an experience of the spirit and beauty of southern Spain or Al Andalus.
We have personally selected every single one of the pieces included in our Collection, which we have developed in order to provide a range of the most beautiful of the traditional craft legacies still being practised in southern Spain.
This represents our modest effort to support these vanishing artisans, and to assist in the preservation of these generations-old craft traditions that are currently under threat of extinction in this modern era of mass production and cheap copies.
It is our aim to, in some small way, promote these artisans and their crafts and to provide information to consumers concerning their traditions and their workmanship; the exceptionally high standards of crafts whose traditional standards were no less high.
We fairly trade directly with the artisans themselves in their workshops and not through intermediaries.
We have been exceedingly honoured to have developed personal relationships with all of the artisans represented in our collections and feel privileged to witness their workshop studios and see their traditional processes first hand.
These busy, creative friends have gone out of their way to welcome us to their studios and explain to us their traditions.
Indeed, it is fair to say that our relationships developed first and our work with them was secondary.
We respectfully bring you their individual stories and histories in our Artisan section.
More than this, we wish to share our incredible experiences of the fascinating history and culture of Andalucia.

Interested in traveling to this fascinating country?
We have been there many, many times and often on our arrival home, friends, family and customers have asked all the usual questions including where did you go?, what did you see?, did you have fun?, what was the weather like?, and how much did it cost? These and a host of other questions we have attempted to answer in our travel pages. But one last question has inspired our 'tour' pages and that is - would you plan a trip for us if we gave you the details? The suggested tours in this section have been developed in response to these requests. Have fun! We had a lot of fun creating them (we are working on more). To see these tours, please click here.
