Our own journey began on our honeymoon in ‘Al Andalus’, the mystical land of the Moors that once encompassed most of Spain and much of north Africa and that is now so beautifully represented by sunny Andalucia, southern Spain. Our passion has led us to developing this portal to Spain in order to share with you our experiences and our knowledge of this beautiful region. Gifts of taracea or of ceramics were so appreciated by friends and family that we began a journey of seeking out studios with unique products such as jarapas, religious icons and hand painted ceramic tiles to name but a few. These voyages of discovery led to lasting friendships with the fine traditional artisans we met along the way and to the increasing passion for bringing these traditional works of art to a wider public. Many of these unique crafts will be unfamiliar to the North American viewer, although they deserve to be more widely known. All our products are fairly traded directly from the artisans themselves to our store and have been personally selected by Sandra and Miguel.
